XIAO Haipeng, MD, PhD

Dr. XIAO Haipeng is a Professor of Medicine and Doctoral Supervisor awarded Special Allowance by the State Council, and Member of the Discipline Assessment Group, Academic Degree Commission of the State Council. He is Executive Vice President of Sun Yat-sen University, President of The First Affiliated Hospital, SYSU and Chief Consultant of Endocrinology. Dr. Xiao also serves as Vice President of China Endocrine and Metabolism Association, Chinese Medical Doctors Association, Vice Chairman of Guangdong Medical Association, and Associate Editor of JOE/JME.

Dr. Xiao has led a number of research projects funded by National Natural Science Foundation and grants of Ministry or Provincial levels. His academic findings have been published in key international journals such as BMJ, Lancet Digital Health, Cell Research, Thyroid, JCEM, Diabetologia, Molecular Therapy, etc.

 

LUO Teng, PhD

Ms. Luo, Doctor of Laws, is a veteran in human resources and students’ affairs. She is currently Executive Board Member, China Association of Higher Education; Deputy Director, Faculty Study Committee, China Association of Higher Education; and Deputy Secretary-general, Salary Study Committee, China Association of Higher Education. Ms. Luo was named “National Outstanding Educator” in 2014, “Excellent Staff of China Association of Higher Education” in 2012,“Excellent Staff of Faculty Study Committee, China Association of Higher Education” in 2015, “Excellent Head Teach of Guangdong” in 2000, etc.

 

ZENG Jinsheng, MD, PhD

Dr. Zeng Jinsheng is Vice President of The First Affiliated Hospital, Sun Yat-sen University and Director of Department of Neurology. He is honored as the distinguished professor of Pearl River Scholar in Guangdong Province. Now he is the chair member of Chinese Society for Stroke Prevention and Management, President-elect,Chinese Society of Neurology. He is the Editor-in-chief of Chinese Journal of Nervous and Mental Diseases, and also the member of the editorial board of Stroke, and contributing reviewer of many domestic and international peer reviewed journals in neurological fields.

Dr. Zeng is mainly engaging in acute treatment, rehabilitation and prevention of stroke, especially in neural plasticity and secondary degeneration following stroke. He has undertaken and completed more than 30 research projects including National Basic Research Program of China (973 project), Natural Science Foundation of China, and so on. He has published 346 articles, including 112 in peer reviewed international journals and edited 40 books or chapters.

 

 


QI Shaohai, MD, PhD

Dr. Qi is a Professor of Burn Surgery and Doctoral Supervisor. He received his medical degree from the School of Medicine at Sun Yat-sen University of Medical Sciences in 1990 and is now Chief Physician in Burn Surgery in the First Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University.

Dr. Qi is a member of the Chinese Tissue Repair Society under the Chinese Medical Association. He is the President of the Medical Engineering Association under the Guangdong Medical Association and a member of the Burn Association under the Guangdong Medical Association. He also serves as an Associate Editor of Chinese Journal of Injury Repair and Wound Healing (Electronic Edition) and an editorial board member of Chinese Archives of General Surgery (Electronic Edition). He has chaired and participated in a number of special projects of the Ministry of Health, research projects at the provincial or ministerial level, and projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China. He has won a first prize of the Science and Technology Progress Award of the Ministry of Education, a second prize of the Science and Technology Progress Award of the State Education Commission, a third prize of the Guangdong Science and Technology Progress Award, and a third prize of the Guangzhou Science and Technology Progress Award.

 


KUANG Ming, MD, PhD

Dr. Kuang is a Professor in Hepatobiliary surgery and Interventional Ultrasound, and Director of Cancer Center and Hepato-pancreato-biliary Surgery Center in FAH-SYSU. As a doctor, Dr. Kuang majors in minimally invasive treatments for cancer and is interested in the mechanism, prevention and treatment of liver cancer recurrence and metastases, and precision cancer research including immunotherapy.

He has published more than 100 original articles on Ann Oncol, Nature Communication, Hepatology, Radiology, and Clinical Cancer Research in recent years. Dr. Kuang is nowadays one of the leading experts in the field of tumor ablation in China.

 

WANG Zilian, MD

Dr. Wang is a Professor and Director of Obstetrics and Gynecology in FAH-SYSU. As a doctor, Dr. Wang majors in the fetal-maternal medicine especially in the management of gestational diabetes mellitus, obstetrical complications, high-risk pregnancy management,as well as fetal monitoring.

Dr. Wang has published over 100 peer-reviewed articles on international and domestic journals. She has also been awarded several domestic grants as the principal investigator in recent years, such as sub-project of National Key Research and Development Program of China, General Program of National Natural Science Foundation of China. She is nowadays one of the leading experts in the field of Obstetrics in China.

 

 

YIN Xiaoyu, MD, PhD

Dr. Yin is a Professor in Hepato-Pancreato-biliary (HPB) surgery, and Director of Pancreato-biliary Surgery in FAH-SYSU. Clinically Dr. Yin has profound experiences in surgical management of various HPB diseases, including cholangiocarcinoma, gallbladder carcinoma, pancreatic carcinoma and pancreatic neuroendocrine tumor, especially adopting minimally-invasive approaches. He is now one of the leading experts in robotic-assisted HPB surgery in China.

As regards research, Dr. Yin is interested in studying the mechanisms in progression, metastasis, chemo-resistance and immune-resistance of cholangiocarcinoma and pancreatic carcinoma. So far he has obtained 5 grants from the National Natural Science Foundation of China, and published more than 110 articles on SCI Journals, including Advanced Science, ACS Nano, Material Today, Oncogene, Cancer Let, Cancer, Br J Surg, and Chinese core journals.

 


ZHU Qingtang, MD, PhD

Dr. Zhu is Professor and Deputy Director of Microsurgery, Trauma and Hand Surgery in FAH-SYSU. As a doctor, Dr. Zhu majors in reconstructive microsurgery for extremity and is interested in management of severed extremity injury, peripheral nerve repair, biofabrication of nerve substitutes, and artificial intelligence for telemedicine.

He was appointed as the Chair of Microsurgery Committee of the International Society of Orthopaedic Surgery and Traumatology in 2019. Dr. Zhu is nowadays one of the leading experts in the field of microsurgery in China.

 


ZHANG Nu, MD, PhD

Dr. Zhang is Deputy Director and Professor Neurosurgery, and Professor in Institute of Precision Medicine in FAH-SYSU. He is also Professor for Guangdong Provincial Key Laboratory of Brain Function and Disease. Dr. Zhang received his MD and Ph.D degrees and completed his clinical training from First Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University. He completed his postdoc training in MD Anderson Cancer Center in USA.

Dr. Zhang’s clinical efforts focus on surgery and comprehensive management of brain tumor. His research efforts focus on the tumorigenesis of malignant glioma and the development of novel diagnostic and therapeutic targets. His work has been funded by The National Key Research and Development Program of China, the National Science Fund for Excellent Young Scholars, etc. His contribution has been published on high-profile journals, including Cancer Cell, Nature Cell Biology, Cell Metabolism, Nature Communications, JNCI, Genome Biology, Neuro-oncology, etc. The total other citations are over 1200 times.

Dr. Zhang currently serves as the chairman of Division of Neurooncology of Guangdong Precision Medicine Application Association, the youth committee member of Neurosurgery Branch of Chinese Medical Association, the standing committee member of Neurosurgery Branch of Guangdong Medical Association, and the youth committee member of Society for Neuro-Oncology of China.

Ms. Xie is a Professor of Nursing and Master Supervisor. She currently acts as Vice Chairwoman, Nursing Committee of National Society of Higher Medical Education and Deputy Director, Nursing Education Center of Guangdong. Ms. Xie has been working in internal medicine nursing, clinical nursing management and nursing education for many years. She has published more than 30 papers as first or corresponding author in both domestic and international journals, and co-edited 5 books on nursing.

Ms. Lu is Senior Accountant, Executive Board member of the Chinese Educational Audit Society (CEAS), and Vice Chairwoman of Guangdong Provincial Education Audit Association.
