Professor Guan Xiangdong, is a Professor of Medicine and Doctoral Supervisor in Critical Care Medicine at Sun Yat-sen University(SYSU). He received his medical degree from Anhui Medical University in 1984 and has worked in the First Affiliated Hospital, SYSU ever since. Prof. Guan earned his Master degree in 1991 and PhD degree in 1997, and he has been a Professor and Doctoral Supervisor since 2003.

For his dedicated service during the COVID-19 pandemic, Professor Guan has received the highest national honors. In 2020, he was named a "National Advanced Individual in the Fight against COVID-19" by the Central Committee of China. In 2021, and received the "National Ethical Role Model Nomination Award." In 2022, his contributions were further recognized when he was honored as one of China's top ten "Most Beautiful Doctors."
